Reminder: Immunizations Tomorrow for Grade 7’s and Grade 8 Girls

Just a reminder that the School Immunization Clinic will be set up tomorrow for all grade 7 students and grade 8 girls whose families returned the consent forms to York Region Public Health which were mailed out in June.

Grade 7 students will be receiving their 1st dose of the Hepatitis B vaccination and grade 7 students and grade 8 girls will be receiving their 1st dose of the HPV vaccination.

York Region Public Health has prepared a list of helpful tips to ensure that our school has a successful immunization clinic.

  • Remind students to wear a short sleeve shirt on the day of the clinic.
  • Encourage students to eat breakfast or have a snack prior to the clinic.
  • Please inform students that taking “selfies” or videotaping other students with their cell phones, is prohibited at the immunization clinic.

Students who miss their opportunity to be immunized at school can also receive the vaccine(s) by appointment (not walk-in) at York Region Public Health’s community clinics, by clicking on Community Immunization Clinics at www.york.ca/immunization.

If you require additional information, please contact York Region Public Health at 1-877-464-9675 ext. 73452.
